Until Then…
One of the more familiar phrases from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., is ‘how long, not long, but to some the question would beg how long and I believe an appropriate response is: “until then.” I say this because we must understand that there are times when we will face difficult transitional periods in our lives that may cause us to feel uncomfortable in our present condition and uncertain about our future. When such times occur, we should trust that God can provide instruction and assurance for our future during difficult times.
Whatever He Says–Do It
Mothers can be great advisers; they can give great advice. The Bible calls Jesus a Wonderful Counselor (Isaiah 9:6), but I tell you moms have a way of giving good counsel themselves. I remember some of the motherly advice I received: If you open it, close it; if you turn it on, turn it off; if you take it out, put it back; if you empty it, fill it. If you fill it, empty it. The bottom line is this when momma asks you if you want a piece of advice, that question was just a formality…
God Is Able
I must be transparent with you this morning. This week as I listened to the news and read various internet news clips I became somewhat concerned. Partly because it is becoming so hard to find what is true in the most insignificant and irrelevant discussions. So, as I prepared for today, I asked the Lord for a word of encouragement that I could share with the people of Bethel, and I believe we have found it in the Book of Jude.
